Expansions or Core Expansions in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will fulfill a similar role to Hanger Units in the past. Hanger Units typically encompass weapon or utility extensions, making them the closest equivalent to what Expansions are expected to be. However, it is worth noting that Hanger Units were removed in Armored Core 6. Similar to Hanger Units, Expansions may provide an additional utility that provides either offensive or defensive capabilities to Armored Cores. What are Expansions in A6?
In Armored Core 6, Expansions are limited-use utilities that revolve around Pulse technology, and with the exception of Assault Armor, are mostly defensive in nature. Unlike other parts, they put no burden on an AC's Weight or EN Output, and should always be equipped if available.
