Different Leg Types in Armored Core 6
Armored Core 6 Legs Guide
Similar to Cores, Legs also play a significant role in determining the overall defensive statistics and Armor Points (AP) of an Armored Core. The most commonly encountered leg type is the humanoid variant, known for its versatility in traversing various terrains such as land, water bodies, and even airborne environments.
However, it is important to note that there are other leg types available, including Tank Legs, Quad Legs, and Reversed Legs. Each leg type possesses its own set of strengths and weaknesses, offering a diverse range of options to cater to different playstyles and specific needs. The choice of leg type greatly varies based on the desired play style or specific requirements of the pilot.
Different legs will give different effects and abilities on how your Armored Core operates, moves, and how it approaches combat in the air or on the ground. The different leg types also hold different load limits, players will need to pay attention to this when wanting to decide if you want a faster movement that sacrifices load limit and defense or slower movement but higher load limit and defense.
What is a Bipedal in AC6?
The bipedal type is the default type players will get when starting the game, it has a good balance of ground combat as well as air combat and speed. Being the default set of legs, they are easy to use and well-rounded.
The downside to using the bipedal leg type is the low weight load limit, leaving players not being able to attach heavier equipment to their Armored Core. Another downside is that the bipedal type is a little light on defense.
What are Reverse Joints in AC6?
The reverse joint types are nimble, lightweight, and capable of fast movement speed. This type also gets an energy-free boost when launching off of surfaces which makes it smooth for players to transition from ground combat to air combat.
The downsides to using the reverse joint type are that its low weight load limit and defense and impact resistance are much lower than the bipedal types. This leaves players even less flexibility to carry heavier equipment. Using the reverse joint type legs can increase your speed but upon getting damaged by the enemy, could quickly lower players' AP.
What is Tetrapod in AC6?
The tetrapod type is more suited for players who prefer aerial combat. This is due to its ability to hover which locks its current elevation point. When hovering, your energy is drained a lot slower letting players stay in the air much longer than other leg types, recoil from your weapons is also absorbed when maintaining a hover. Lastly, the tetrapod type has a high load limit and high defense, giving room to players who want to equip heavier equipment.
The downside to using the tetrapod type is that it is a little on the slower side when airborne, and due to its large structure, it is an easier target to hit especially when hovering.
What is a Tank in AC6?
The tank type is high in damage absorbent and more focused on ground combat. It has a high load limit and flat recoil reduction to weapons, this gives players the ability to equip larger, heavier weapons onto their AC. After doing a quick boost, the tank can perform a drift.
The downside to using the tank type is that there will be some struggle during airborne combat, due to its large structure, much like the tetrapod type, it is an easier target to hit.
